  • The Prairie Club Receives Honors Again

    Golf Digest named The Prairie Club to a position on the 2017-2018 list of “America’s Second 100 Greatest Golf Courses” for the first time in their history. The biennial list of greatest golf courses is designed to accumulate all private and public golf courses in the United States and rank them based on the scrutinous evaluations of the national course raters.

  • Golf Course Improvements at The Prairie Club

    Ross Buckendahl, General Manager of The Prairie Club along with their new Director of Agronomy, Roger Brashear, have been working with Graham Marsh and Chris Brands, architects who were involved with developing the Pines and Dunes Courses to improve playability and aesthetics on the courses. The courses look good and they have assured guests that every hole will be completely playable for the entire golf season.

  • The Prairie Club Adds a New Sibling – A McGowan Capital Investment

    At The Prairie Club, located near Valentine, Nebraska, the Main Lodge and Canyon Rim are adding a sibling this year. “The Bunkhouse” will be a new 12-room lodging facility located near the Snake River Canyon’s edge. The Bunkhouse will bring the on-site total to 71 rooms and 80 beds.

    PGA recently posted an article titled, “Five Great Places to Play Links-Style Golf in the United States. Regarding The Prairie Club, located near Valentine, Nebraska, they said, “This Tom Lehman/Chris Brand design, with its dramatic elevation changes, tall grasses and innovative, rugged bunkering, is links-style golf at its finest. Situated on the rim of the Snake River Canyon, the course is picturesque and challenging. When the wind starts howling, as it often does in this part of the Cornhusker State, you can close your eyes and swear you’re in Scotland. The Prairie club features caddies, two other golf courses and accommodations at a rustic-looking, amenity-laden 31 room lodge and four cabins.”

    Every year in January, golf courses throughout the United States anxiously await the list of the Golf Digest’s announcement of America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses. We are proud to announce that both of The Prairie Club’s 18 hole courses, Dunes and Pines, made the list for 2015-2016. This was wonderful news to receive this honor in their first year of eligibility!
