Every year in January, golf courses throughout the Unites States anxiously await the list of the Golf Digest’s announcement of America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses. We are proud to announce, as an investor of this golf resort, that both of The Prairie Club’s 18 hole courses, Dunes and Pines, made the list for 2015 – 2016. This was wonderful news to receive this honor in their first year of eligibility!
The criteria used by Golf Digest Panelists to determine the rankings include Shot Values, Resistance to Scoring, Design Variety, Memorability, Aesthetics, Conditioning and Ambiance. A course needs a minimum of 25 evaluations to be eligible for America’s 100 Greatest.
The Dunes Course ranked at #35 with a score of 58.6291. The #1 course was Pebble Beach Golf Links with a score of 67.6226. Golf Digest remarked, “Most fairways are generously broad, most greens are perched, tucked or otherwise half-hidden to reward only shots correctly placed at certain angles”.
Ranking at #75, the Pines Course received a score of 56.3803. Golf Digest states, “Those seven holes…are lined with tall pines and cedars and bring to mind a collection of holes in the Colorado Rockies. For pure golfing variety, Prairie Club rivals even Bandon Dunes.”
